Why was Darcy's Horse made?

It all started over a glass of wine in Perth, Wester Australia in April 2021. One of the RFDS Directors, John Van Der Wielen suggested what a great idea it would be if Troy Morrison made a sculpture for the RFDS. That in itself didn't seem like a big deal. 

A short conversation with RFDS WA CEO Rebecca Tomkinson and the idea of Darcy's Horse was born. From there it was a very simple sketch and a few months later the concept is now reality.

Now that Darcy is completed Troy Morrison is donating it to the RFDSWA and it will be auctioned off to raise as much money as possible. 100% of the funds raised will be allocated to RFDSWA.
